EFFIE TRINKET as face of China Glaze’s HUNGER GAMES Nail Polish

Hollywood Movie Crush has a gorgeous photo of Effie as the official face of China Glaze’s new HUNGER GAMES nail polish, CAPITOL COLOURS. MTV had quite a bunch to say about the image:

Just look at Ms. Trinket in this photo! Her perfectly-curled hair is a very soft shade of pink, further accented by a purple head piece and a fuchsia top. Effie’s makeup is equally bold, with hot pink eyeshadow above and below her eyes, plus matching lipstick (not to mention those feather-like adornments on her eyelashes). The ad features small swatches of what we presume to be the official 12 colors to be launched as part of the “Capitol Colours” line, as well as the leading and clever tagline “What will you be wearing to the opening ceremonies?”

PEOPLE interview with Elizabeth Banks and TWO NEW Hunger Games Stills

People.com has an interview with Elizabeth Banks/Effie as well as two stills from the movie:

“Effie is a very complicated woman,” says Banks, who previously worked with director Gary Ross on 2003′s Seabiscuit. “She’s a spinner. She spins everything into something positive. These kids have been pulled from their loved ones to compete on television in this horrible event in which they will likely lose their lives.”

Effie, she says, is “charged with making their last days before they’re in the Games as positive as possible, so that they go into the Games with a great attitude. And, of course, that seems crazy.”

LIONSGATE on HUNGER GAMES Sequels

Bloomberg Magazine interviewed Jon Feltheimer, Lions Gate’s chief executive officer. He mentions THE HUNGER GAMES often, emphasizing the size of the project. One interesting point he made:

Feltheimer, whose chiseled jaw and deep-set eyes could get him cast in a Western, nods in agreement. He says “The Hunger Games” must hit $100 million in domestic box office sales to justify making sequels. “I’m not too concerned we won’t get to that kind of number,” the studio head says.

Woody Harrelson discusses THE HUNGER GAMES

MTV got to chat with Woody Harrelson. He discusses his experience working with Jennifer and Josh:

One of the things Harrelson liked — in addition to Haymitch, of course — was working with his young co-stars, particularly Lawrence and Hutcherson.

“I think they’re just marvelous actors. I think they just knocked it out of the park,” he gushed. “Just as people, [they are] about as fun as it gets. They really are fun folks. It’s cool, because I’ve never even done a sequel, and I just signed on to four movies, so we’re going to be spending a lot of time together between doing the movies and press and everything, so it’s great to love these guys.

Woody Harrelson talks Rampart and Haymitch drunkenness

As part of an interview for Woody Harrelson’s upcoming film Rampart, Entertainment Weekly asked Woody Harrelson about his role in THE HUNGER GAMES. Here’s what he had to say:

Your character in Rampart drinks quite a bit, and now you’ve just finished playing another drunk, Haymitch, in The Hunger Games.

Honestly, I felt like there was a little too much sobriety. We’ll see how it all comes together. But there is some drunkenness.

Josh Hutcherson: “Peeta is the closest version of myself…I’ve [gotten] to play in a movie”

Variety interviewed Josh Hutcherson, where he discusses his role in THE HUNGER GAMES. He also talks about Peeta’s character and acting with his co-stars:

“Peeta is the closest version of myself that I’ve ever gotten to play in a movie,” Hutcherson says. “His core belief is not letting the world around him change who he is. I have never let anything around me affect what I believe, which is that you treat others the way you want to be treated.”

Anyone else excited for March 23? ;)

Josh Hutcherson interview with MTV

As Kara Warner promised us, here is the interview with Josh Hutcherson. He talks about his role models in the film industry and the audition process in THE HUNGER GAMES:

MTV: So let’s talk briefly about “The Hunger Games” and that crazy audition process.

Hutcherson: For the audition process, I came in the first time and read a few scenes for [director] Gary Ross and [author] Suzanne Collins and some of the other producers involved. Then maybe about a week or so, maybe two weeks later, I came in and did a screen test with [co-star] Jennifer [Lawrence], where I actually read the scenes with her so they could see how the chemistry worked.

Amandla Stenberg interview with DREAM MAGAZINE

Dream Magazine interviewed Amandla Stenberg, where she mentions THE HUNGER GAMES:

Dream: You’re currently working on The Hunger Games, what’s it like to be part of a cast of a movie that is so highly anticipated?

Amandla: It’s surreal because I was such a big fan of the books before I even auditioned. When I heard that there was going to be a movie, I remember being so excited for the opening in March, never thinking I was going to be a part of the cast! To be playing Rue is such an honor, and I can’t wait to see the movie.
