In a new interview with TOTAL FILM, Jennifer Lawrence discussed the violence in THE HUNGER GAMES movie:

And just how gory is The Hunger Games (which has narrative similarities to Battle Royale and The Running Man) actually going to be?

“There’s blood, death, stabbing, spears and arrows going into people, but you can have the impact of violence without being gory.”

She also discusses how she was interested in the role:

I always got asked why I did indies, not studio films, and I said it was about the script, it’s not about how big it is, and she was like, ‘This is a script you love, a character you love, and you’re about to turn it down because of the size of it? You’re a hypocrite!

In an interview with DETAILS (new issue coming up in March), Liam Hemsworth discusses his experience when he first learned about receiving the role of Gale.

Liam got the call from Gary Ross, the director of The Hunger Games, about a year ago. “I was half asleep,” he says, using a seven-iron to stretch his back as we amble toward the first tee, “listening to the voice mail. He was like, ‘You did a great read. Do you want to come and do the movie?’ I was like, ‘Oh sh–”

He also discussed his relationship with Miley Cyrus…and squirrels.
